Dr. Orly Dafni Attia has over 25 years of experience as a paediatrician. After earning her medical degree from Hadassah Medical School at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, she served as a military physician and completed her paediatric residency in 2004 at Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot, Israel, where she frequently worked in the ER.
Initially, Dr. Orly practiced as a senior doctor in the paediatric emergency department and worked in a centre specializing in the evaluation and treatment of children on the autism spectrum, as well as those with other developmental delays. In October 2009, what began as a one-year adventure in Vietnam led to a long-term career when she joined an international clinic. She later transitioned to Raffles Medical in Ho Chi Minh City.
Dr. Orly has extensive experience in treating a wide range of paediatric conditions, from common ailments such as coughs and colds to more complex chronic illnesses. She is passionate about monitoring the growth and development of babies and toddlers, working closely with parents to ensure their children reach healthy developmental milestones.
Her expertise also extends to working with children on the autism spectrum, as well as those with ADD, ADHD, and other learning disabilities. Dr. Orly collaborates closely with kindergartens and international schools to promote early detection and intervention of developmental delays. She has observed that awareness of these conditions remains low in Vietnam, with both parents and teachers often uncomfortable discussing the subject, leading to delayed diagnosis. Despite the common belief that children may outgrow such disorders, Dr. Orly sees many cases where early support is critical, especially as girls tend to show more severe symptoms than boys. Her work is focused on building a strong support network for these children and their families.
