After studying general practice for two years, Dr. Huong decided to complete her specialty in oral and maxillofacial surgery, graduating from the Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 2007. She went on to undertake a master’s degree in oral pathology at Chonbuk National University in Korea between 2009 and 2011, where she also performed research in the cultivation of anticarcinogenic bacteria. She returned to Vietnam after this period and subsequently moved to Ho Chi Minh City with her family in 2013. She initially worked in a private clinic before practicing at HCMC’s Hospital of Odonto-Maxillo-Facial, and then eventually joining Raffles Medical in 2014, where she most commonly performs fillings and cleaning procedures for patients, as well as prosthodontics.
Dr. Huong intends to continue her studies in the field with further courses in orthodontics, her original plans to study having been deferred by the coronavirus pandemic. While she also has a qualification in implantology, she believes orthodontics is a suitable practice for women dentists as a skill that can restore beautiful smiles.
