When Dr Nga was a child and fell ill, her mother took her to an after-hours clinic. A gentle, middle-aged doctor examined her and prescribed medication. She recovered so quickly that the experience inspired her to become a doctor herself one day. She received her medical education at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City, where she was taught by exceptional professors both in lecture halls and during clinical rotations at major central hospitals. One of the most memorable experiences was her third-year clinical training in the cardiology ward, where she learned to detect heart valve diseases through the careful auscultation of heart murmurs under the guidance of dedicated senior doctors.

Before joining Raffles Medical Group, she worked in the ICU of Vung Tau Hospital and in Internal Medicine with International SOS, providing offshore medical evacuation via helicopter.

One unforgettable moment in her career was when an elderly Australian patient returned to the clinic with a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums—commonly used for worship in Vietnam. He wanted to thank her for a previous consultation where she identified signs of heart valve regurgitation. He later had surgery in Australia and told her that the operation gave him a new lease on life, as if he had returned to his youth.
